Joseph’s 1st Christmas

This little cutie was born just before Christmas and I was so honored to be able to capture some memories from his first Christmas. Joseph’s family are good friends and I was thrilled to be able to take his pictures and get to snuggle him for a little while as well. Joseph wasn’t a huge fan of the pictures and kept giving me this look like I was a crazy lady with the camera and silly hats that I kept putting on his head, which I was. But, we got him comfy and he dosed off to sleep for some regular newborn portraits after the Christmas pictures. He is such a precious little boy, who is so loved by his parents and 3 big sisters! Congratulations on your sweet baby boy, Andrew and Alice. I cannot wait to watch him grow up! And thank you so much for letting me capture these special memories for you.

Meet Lilly

I just had another special newborn session at the beginning of December. This is Lilly and she is the precious new baby of Ben and Clair and big sister, Emma. It was so fun to take Lilly’s portraits because I used to babysit Emma twice a week when she was a tiny baby and we did a family session when she was about 9 months old. This newborn session was also extra special because I shot Ben and Clair’s wedding back when I was doing weddings. I love seeing their growing family and being able to capture these special moments for them. I did a combo of a posed newborn session and a more lifestyle session for Lilly’s portraits, which was a lot of fun. Emma was so sweet with her baby sister and we even got the dog Jack to pose for a few pictures. Ben’s mom also joined us for the pictures so it was special to get some multi-generational pictures. Congratulations, Ben and Clair on your precious new baby girl! And thank you so much for allowing me to capture all these big moments in your lives.

Meet Karla

I am especially excited to share these pictures with you because they are extra special for me. Let me introduce you to my precious new niece, Karla. Karla was born back in Sept but I have been waiting until after Christmas to share her pictures because of presents. Karla was such a wonderful baby model during her portrait session but I kept telling her not to worry, that Aunt Rachel won’t always make her take pictures like this. We even got big sister, Grace, to sit for a few pictures as well. It was so fun to meet my newest niece and such an honor to take her portraits. Karla, we love you and are so excited to watch you grow up!

The Kyker Family

Happy New Year from Wetzel Photography! We are so thankful for each of our clients from 2016 and are excited to see what 2017 holds for us!

I have a few more portrait sessions that I can finally share now that Christmas is over. Next up is the Kyker family. This sweet family also goes to church with me and I was so honored to be able to take their pictures. Judy Kay is a photographer herself so it was so special for me to be asked to take her family’s portraits this year. We had a great time taking their pictures on the beautiful campus of Furman. The Kyker kids were such a fun group of kids to work with. Thanks Kyker family for allowing me to capture your family memories this year.

The Ledford Family

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone! Now that Christmas is over, I can finally start sharing the pictures that I took this fall. I have several sessions to share with you and first up is the Ledford family. I had so much fun working with this family! They are friends from church and we had a great time at Beechwood Farms taking their pictures. These kids are so cute and kept me laughing the whole time…especially when Graham started trying to eat the squash in the fields. Thanks Ledford family for allowing me to capture your Christmas memories this year!

One Small Step for PWS 2016

I had the great honor of shooting the One Small Step for PWS event in Spartanburg for the 3rd time this year. This is such a special event because it is organized by one of my good friends with the purpose of raising money for Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) research. This year they raised $34,000 for PWS research! Gwyn’s daughter, Ellie, was born with this rare genetic disorder 4 years ago and she and her husband have worked tirelessly for the past 4 years to help raise money to find a cure for PWS so that Ellie and her friends can one day live life full. This year, Gwyn had a co-host, Blythe, whose son Peyton was diagnosed with PWS last year. He was at the 5K last year after just being released from NICU. It is so fun to shoot this event each year to be able to watch these precious PWS kids grow up. They are such special kids and I really hope a cure is found soon so they can LIVE LIFE FULL! To learn more about PWS and the research, you can visit the FPWR website.

Meet Anne Shealy

I have been absent for a little while here. My family and I just moved to a new house (local, still in Greenville, no worries) so photography took a back seat for a while. But, we are settled and I am getting back to work again. I am so excited to be able to share these precious pictures with everyone. My first session after moving was a super special session. I had the honor of doing newborn and family portraits for my college roommate’s new baby girl, Anne Shealy. Elizabeth and I lived together all 4 years of college plus the first year out of college. I love living close to her still and being able to see her and Rob date, get married and now have 2 precious little girls. I took Quinn’s newborn portraits almost exactly 2 years ago so it was really fun to be able to take Anne Shealy’s newborn portraits as well. Big sister Quinn was very interested in the newborn set up and wanted to sit there while Anne Shealy was eating. It was hilarious to see her pose in the same spot she sat 2 years ago…she definitely does not fit on the pillow like she did before. Anne Shealy was an amazing baby model and did not fuss at all when I changed her positions. She just let me move her all over and didn’t care one bit. She is such a cutie and she made my job easy that’s for sure! Congratulations, Elizabeth and Rob! And thank you for allowing me to capture such a special time in your family. I cannot wait to watch Anne Shealy grow up and to see all that God has planned for her little life.

Happy Half Birthday, “T”!

This little cutie is 6 months old and I had so much fun taking his half birthday pictures. He wasn’t sure of things at first but his mama and daddy were able to get some precious smiles out of him. It was clear that this little boy loves his mama and daddy. I couldn’t get over his big, gorgeous eyes. I’ve always loved this age for babies and it is so fun to be able to capture that cuteness in pictures for my job. Thanks so much to T’s parents for letting me capture these memories for them. Happy Half Birthday, little T!

Introducing, Miss Cena

This little cutie made her appearance just 3 days after I did a maternity shoot for her parents. I was shocked when I got the news that they were headed to the hospital but I was so excited to meet Miss Cena. She is just precious with big bright eyes. Sweet girl didn’t want to go to sleep right away for her portraits but I took advantage of it and captured some shots of her beautiful eyes and even caught a little sleep smile, which I love with newborns. I love using special props for newborns and the quilt that Cena is laying on in some of the pictures is very special. It was made by her Great-Great Aunt, who is also her namesake. After a little nap and some pictures, she decided she was ready to wake up again to get some snuggles with her mama and daddy and big sister, Roxie. Roxie was determined she was going to be in the pictures and I was happy to have her there, dogs are part of the family too. It was so special for me to see Randy and Christin as new parents. Our family is so excited for them and their growing family. We are so grateful that we get to watch Cena grow up and see the little girl that God has planned for her to become. Congratulations, Randy and Christin, and thanks for letting me capture these special memories of your life as a new family of 3.

Baby Cena is on the Way

When I took these pictures at Campbell’s Covered Bridge and the Poinsett Bridge, baby Cena was on the way but now she is actually here, born just 3 days after these pictures were taken. It was such an honor for me to be able to take these pictures because these new parents, Randy and Christin are good friends of mine. My husband and Randy worked at a summer camp together and even spent 4 months in Africa together on a missions trip. We loved watching Randy and Christin date, get engaged, get married and now become parents to a beautiful baby girl. We cannot wait to watch sweet Cena Mae grow up and see the precious girl that God has planned for her to become. Congratulations Randy and Christin and thanks so much for letting me document this special time in your lives.
